MANILA, Philippines — With Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon already expressing their intention to leave National University after UAAP Season 87, setter Lams Lamina is still undecided whether or not to follow suit.
Lamina has not thought about her plans after this season as she is focused on helping the Lady Bulldogs win a second consecutive title.
“Wala pa kong iniisip mas nagfo-focus ako ngayon sa team ko na hopefully mareach namin yung goal namin,” Lamina told reporters after dishing out 14 excellent sets in their 25-23, 25-19, 25-15 win over Ateneo on Wednesday at FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Lamina, the Season 84 Best Setter, is eager to win it all this year for their graduating players.
“Sobrang gusto ko talagang manalo etong season kasi sobrang competitive namin and sana maganda yung kalabasan ng exit ng seniors namin,” said Lamina, who has been teammates with Belen and Solomon since high school.
More than the title, the fourth-year playmaker seeks to cherish every moment with the Lady Bulldogs.
“Happy ako kasi marami kaming nagagawa nila ate Aly and Belle and yung mga ates ko gumagawa lang kami ng memories together inside and outside the court,” she said.

Lamina has had a solid start to the season, dishing out 20 excellent sets in their sweep of La Salle on Sunday.
After the game, NU coach Sherwin Meneses quipped: “Magaling na si Lams.”
Lamina said she still has a lot to learn from Meneses, who coached decorated Creamline setters Jia De Guzman and Kyle Negrito in the PVL.
“Marami pang need talaga iimprove kasi andito pa lang naman ako [sa level na ito], yung iba nasa taas na pero kailangan papunta tayo doon,” she said.

“Napakasimple lang yung sistema ni coach plus nagiging simple lalo yung laro ng volleyball. Sobrang laki ng impact ni coach Sherwin kasi nabibigyan din kami ng confidence every training and every game.”
In the event that Lamina opts to not return for another season, NU already has someone to try and fill in the playmaker role in promising sophomore Abe Pono. Pono showed quality minutes against the Blue Eagles
“I’m so happy kanina kay Abegail Pono kasi before pa siya ipasok ready na siya alam na niya yung macocontribute nya sa team kasi napakagaling na bata na yun kung alam nyo lang,” she said.
