They weren’t supposed to be in this position, but the Cignal HD Spikers know there’s no use in crying over spilled milk.
After finishing the preliminary round high up the leaderboard at No. 3, the HD Spikers were dragged back to earth by lowly Galeries Tower in the qualifying round and were demoted to the play-in tournament of the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
“It’s a lesson learned for us, and we’ll carry that with us wherever we go,” coach Shaq Delos Santos said.

PVL: Chery Tiggo moves on from struggles to get back on track

MANILA, Philippines — Eager to make the most of their second chance in the play-in, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers stuck together to end their four-game losing streak and stay in contention in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Chery Tiggo turned to the troika of Ara Galang, Cess Robles, and Shaya Adorador to beat Nxled, 25-22, 26-24, 25-12, and inch a win closer to earning the quarterfinal ticket in Pool B of the Play-In on Thursday at Philsports Arena.
Licking the wounds of their tough qualifying round loss to Choco Mucho, Adorador said they refused to be affected by their recent setbacks.

Chery Tiggo gained a headstart in the PVL All-Filipino Conference play-in tournament Pool B after pounding Nxled, 25-22, 26-24, 25-12, on Thursday at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Smarting from four straight losses–including two from Choco Mucho at the end of the preliminary round and again in the qualifying round–the Crossovers finally got out of the hump knowing that this is their last chance to book a ticket to the quarterfinals.
Cess Robles and Ara Galang fueled Chery Tiggo with 15 points apiece to move their squad just a win shy of moving on to the next round.

PVL: Cignal, Chery Tiggo open bids to make playoffs via backdoor
Cignal and Chery Tiggo are two proud franchises now mired in a group of young teams that will fight for dear life in the play-in tournament of the PVL All-Filipino Conference that starts on Thursday.
With sterling pasts and rosters made to win titles, the HD Spikers and Crossovers are both fancied to make it out of this stage and join six other teams in the quarterfinals, but first up for them are Capital1 and Nxled, respectively, as the single round phase starts at PhilSports Arena.
Cignal was relegated to here after taking a shock loss to Galleries Tower in the KO phase, while the Crossovers couldn’t pull off an upset of No. 5 Choco Mucho.
