MANILA, Philippines — Eager to make the most of their second chance in the play-in, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers stuck together to end their four-game losing streak and stay in contention in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Chery Tiggo turned to the troika of Ara Galang, Cess Robles, and Shaya Adorador to beat Nxled, 25-22, 26-24, 25-12, and inch a win closer to earning the quarterfinal ticket in Pool B of the Play-In on Thursday at Philsports Arena.
Licking the wounds of their tough qualifying round loss to Choco Mucho, Adorador said they refused to be affected by their recent setbacks.

“Even when we’re down, we don’t fall apart. Especially the players, because we’re all together on the court. We see each other’s daily struggles, but we know we can get through it as long as we stick together,” said Adorador in Filipino after delivering 14 points and 11 digs.
Adorador added that they were playing well against Choco Mucho, which beat them two games in a row from the preliminary and qualifying rounds, they just lacked a strong finish.
“Based on today’s game, we’re really working on it since we want to win [our remaining games],” she said.
Cess Robles, who had 15 points, nine receptions, and seven digs, also admitted that wing spikers, had their shortcomings in the past games so they worked harder in practice.

“When we lose, our confidence drops. That’s something we’re working on every day in training. We’re all determined to get our confidence back because we know that’s not how we play,” she said.
With a second chance in the play-in, Chery Tiggo tries to beat Farm Fresh on Tuesday to earn the eightth seed and force a best-of-three quarterfinals series with the top seed, Creamline.
“We can’t have self doubts. This is it. We just need to do our job and stay focused on our goal,” Robles said. “I think it’s not just about playing but also bringing our hearts and minds to the game. It’s about maturity, too.”
“Our mindset is to keep that killer instinct and carry it to the Farm Fresh game. We need to push hard because these games are no joke. We’re going all out,” Adorador added.
