MANILA, Philippines—La Salle had another display of dominance, this time at the expense of Far Eastern University on Saturday in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.
Among the shining stars of the Lady Spikers’ victory that capped their first-round campaign was Shevana Laput, who played as if she didn’t have just a few days of recovery after their win over Ateneo on Wednesday.
“Despite the short turnaround, our team just really wanted to work hard and end this round on a high note and I think we did that,” said Laput at Araneta Coliseum.

“We want to continue [having] this energy and effort heading into round two.”
La Salle extended its winning streak to four games and improved to 5-2 in solo third place in the standings.
Laput continued her fiery form, producing 22 points with three blocks after dropping 25 in a dominant win over Ateneo last Wednesday.

The 20-year-old Laput believes that with consistency, the Lady Spikers will keep getting better in the second round.
“At the end of the day, this is a team sport and we’re all supporting one another. It just so happened that tonight, it’s me who scored but you never know in the future,” she said.
“Of course, I know everyone’s going to step up and be consistent. We’re on that path of being consistent.”
