MANILA, Philippines — Myla Pablo admitted Petro Gazz couldn’t match the aggressiveness that the No.7 ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles showed as the Angels fell on the brink of elimination a in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
From winning 10 straight games, the No.2 Petro Gazz is suddenly on the verge of missing the semifinals after absorbing a stunning 21-25, 23-25, 25-27 loss to ZUS Coffee, the survivor of the play-in, in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night at Philsports Arena.
Pablo, who was blocked by Jovelyn Gonzaga to end the extended third set, credited the one-year-old club for proving that it’s anybody’s game in their best-of-three series.

From losing their first 20 games as a franchise, the Thunderbelles moved a win closer to a dream semifinal run after stunning the No.2 Petro Gazz, 25-21, 25-23, 27-25, in Game 1 of their best-of-three quarterfinal series on Tuesday night at Philsports Arena.
The veteran spiker nailed the game-winning block on Petro Gazz resurgent star Myla Pablo to continue their run from sweeping the play-in and ending their opponent’s 10-game winning streak.

MANILA, Philippines — Can’t spell Sherwin without win as the Creamline head coach Meneses stood alone with 100 victories in the Premier Volleyball League.
Three years and a day after his first win as Creamline coach, Meneses earned the latest achievement as the only PVL coach with 100 wins after sweeping Chery Tiggo, 25-10, 27-25, 25-21, to take Game 1 of the best-of-three quarterfinals series on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.
As Meneses’ legend keeps growing winning 100 of his 115 games and achieving a rare grand slam last year, his focus is the Cool Smashers’ continuous improvement as they move a win closer to their 17th straight semifinals.

Peaking at the right time, ZUS Coffee dismantled another league big shot in Petro Gazz, 25-21, 25-23, 27-25 to seize control of their quarterfinal series Tuesday in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Jovelyn Gonzaga unleashed the assassin’s blow by deflecting Myla Pablo’s attack at match point as the Thunderbelles continued to decisively roll for three consecutive games in these playoffs.
“I’m shocked with this straight-set win. It was really a total team effort, the coaching staff and the players,’’ said Gonzaga after the kill block that put the Thunderbelles a victory away from a first appearance in the semifinals.

PVL: Balanced Creamline beats Chery Tiggo for Meneses’ 100th win

MANILA, Philippines–Creamline showcased its dependable chemistry even in the face of adversity to subdue Chery Tiggo, 25-10, 27-25, 25-21, and gain headway in their quarterfinal encounter Tuesday at the Premier Volleyball League All Filipino Conference.
Alyssa Valdez imposed herself right in the opening frame and eventually guided the Cool Smashers in finishing off the Crossovers in straight sets that delivered the 100th win of Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses with the franchise.
“Getting Game 1 has set the tone of the series, but we have to work harder and prepare for Game 2,” said Valdez after pouring most of her 16 points in the first two sets apart from protecting their floor with 13 digs and nine receptions.

The way Chery Tiggo swept through its play-in group unscathed did not go unnoticed.
“We saw the games [in the play-in phase],” said Creamline captain Alyssa Valdez.
And what the Cool Smashers saw must have impressed them.
After a masterful run last year, a reputation of invincibility grew around Creamline and the Cool Smashers are determined to keep that intact for as long as they can.

MANILA, Philippines — Cloanne Mondoñedo delivered when it mattered most, leading ZUS Coffee to its first-ever Premier Volleyball League (PVL) quarterfinals appearance.
The heady playmaker didn’t waste the Thunderbelles’ last crack at a playoffs seat as she displayed her brilliance in the play-in tournament of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
“Lahat naman talaga gusto makapasok sa play-ins eh and also kumuha ako ng motivation sa mga teammates ko kasi nakikita kong gusto din nila,” she said. “So ako, ginagawa ko talaga ‘yung best ko na maayos ko ‘yung trabaho ko para sa team.”
