MANILA, Philippines—Reigning MVP Jerie Pingoy caught fire from the three-point region as Far Eastern University-Diliman torched University of the East, 93-39, Sunday to remain untouched in the UAAP Season 75 juniors basketball action at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Pingoy, the Philippine Youth team stand-out, fired a record 12 treys en route to 43-point explosion to lead the Baby Tamaraws to a 12-0 record.
Later, Prince Martin also broke the 40-point barrier with 41 in University of Santo Tomas’ rout of De La Salle-Zobel, 85-63.
The Tiger Cubs improved to 6-4 and boosted their Final Four bid.
Over at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, defending champion National University clobbered Adamson, 81-59, to notch its eighth win in nine games.
Ateneo kept its semifinals hopes alive following a 65-63 squeaker over UP Intergrated School to level its win-loss mark at 5-5.
Meanwhile, unbeaten titleholder FEU Lady Tamaraws subdued the UST Tigresses, 68-56, while the DLSU Lady Archers dumped the Adamson Lady Falcons, 81-47.
The Lady Tamaraws seized their 11th straight win while the Lady Archers upped their mark to 9-3.
