FEU juniors, women’s squads continue domination in 75th UAAP basketball

MANILA, Philippines—Far Eastern University stayed unscathed in the 75th UAAP juniors and women’s basketball tournament Wednesday moving both teams closer to an outright finals berth.

FEU-Diliman triumphed over UP Integrated School, 87-64, behind Jerie Pingoy while the FEU clobbered University of the East, 74-54, in the women’s hoops action at the Arena in San Juan city.

The Baby Tamaraws still could not be defeated with just three assignments left in the eliminations while the Lady Tamaraws notched their 12th triumph.

Pingoy once again paced FEU-Diliman with 19 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Allana Lim had 18 points and eight rebounds for the women’s counterpart.

In the other juniors match, Ateneo blew out UE, 88-60, to improve to 6-5 and bolster its chances of making it to the top four.

In other women’s games, Aracelie Abaca exploded for 20 points and hauled 16 boards as La Salle repulsed University of Santo Tomas, 63-55.

The Lady Archers stay in second placed with a 10-3 card, and moved within a win of a “twice-to-beat” edge in the final four.

Adamson also dominated Ateneo, 71-57, to tie with La Salle at second.

National University, meanwhile, leaned on Joi Tolentino and Carmina Laquindanum in the 66-56 win over University of the Philippines.

Tolentino had 17 markers while Laquindanum added 15 points and 13 boards for the Lady Bulldogs.
