PH-Indonesia Davis Cup draw Thursday; all eyes on Rungkat

MANILA, Philippines—Indonesian hotshot Christopher Rungkat will be in the crosshairs of the Cebuana Lhuillier-Philippine  Davis Cup team in their Davis Cup Group 2 finals the Indonesians will host starting Friday in Jakarta.

The drawing of lots will be held today to decide who will see action in the opening singles with the Filipinos expected to tap Jeson Patrombon as its No. 2 player behind 27-year-old veteran Treat Huey.

The 22-year-old Rungkat is the highest ranked player (world No. 355) in the tie, which will be played at Gelora Bung Karno tennis stadium.

Francis Casey Alcantara is expected to play doubles with Huey. The fourth member of the team is Ruben Gonzales.

Rungkat spearheaded a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Thailand last April in their Group semifinals. Joining him in the team are Elbert Sie, Aditya Havi Sasongko and Sunu-Wahyu Trijati.
