MANILA, Philippines — The Seoul SK Knights lived to fight another day, spoiling Carl Tamayo and the Changwon LG Sakers’ championship plans anew, 86-56, in Game 5 of the Korean Basketball League (KBL) Finals on Tuesday at Jamsil Student Gymnasium.

For the second straight game, Seoul limited Tamayo’s scoring production as the Filipino forward was held to just eight points on another abysmal offensive outing. Tamayo, though, had six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

The Knights will try to force a title decider on Wednesday.

After leading Changwon to a 3-0 series lead averaging 23 points a game, Tamayo has struggled mightily in the LG Sakers’ back-to-back losses combining for only 15 points and missing 17 of his 22 attempts from the field.

The University of the Philippines product had his lowest scoring output in the finals on Sunday in Changwon’s 73-48 loss in Game 4, tallying only seven points on a 1-of-8 shooting clip.

An Young-Jun led Seoul’s collective effort with 21 points. Jameel Warney dropped 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Isaiah Hicks had 16 points and seven rebounds. Juan Gomez De Liaño only played for three minutes and 53 seconds with one rebound and one assist for Seoul.

Yoo Ki-Sang paced Changwon with 14 points. Assem Marei contributed 12 points and eight rebounds, as Yang Junseok chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
