(UPDATED) Gilas Pilipinas advanced to the quarterfinal sof the 2025 Fiba Asia Cup, which runs from August 5 to 17 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Filipinos, led by Justin Brownlee, clinched a spot in the quarterfinals after ousting host Saudi Arabia. They face a familiar foe in Australia next.
Gilas Pilipinas went 0-2 in the group stage after losing to Chinese Taipei and New Zealand before fending off Iraq in a must-win match.
Coached by multi-titled PBA mentor Tim Cone, Gilas Pilipinas looks to improve on its ninth place finish in the 2022 edition of the continental meet.
