PRINCESS Superal cruised to a 12-stroke victory over Malaysian Nur Durriyah Friday in the 100 Plus Malaysian Junior Open Golf Championship in Malaysia.
Superal, 15, knocked down birdies on Nos. 1 and 6 inside 5 feet but had two missed-green bogeys and a double-bogey on the tricky par-3 No. 3 for a 2-over 74 that proved more than enough to give Team ICTI its fourth straight title in as many weeks abroad.
The rest of the field also struggled on the unpredictable putting surface of Saujana Golf and Country Club, giving Superal a runaway total of 216, including a 72 and a 70.
Durriyah also fired a 74 and took runner-up honors at 228, besting erstwhile pursuer Genevieve Ling, who hobbled with a 78 for 231. Local bets Kellie Yan and Asha Lakshme were at 234 and 235, respectively, after a 76 and a 79.
Superal, the reigning Southern Ladies Open champion back home, also took the Class B crown by 22 strokes over Abigail Chong, who tallied a 238 after a 76.
ICTSI-The Country Club team thus stayed on the winning track after Jayvie Agojo sparked the run with a victory in the Santi Cup individual championship last month. Cyna Rodriguez followed it up with a playoff win over Agojo in the Hong Kong Ladies Amateur Open before Dottie Ardina snatched the Taiwan Amateur crown last week.
