IIC, DLSU rule Sandugo

INFORMATICS International College captured the men’s crown, while De La Salle University-Dasmariñas picked up the women’s title in the Sandugo-Collegiate Athletic League over the weekend at Treston gym in Bonifacio Global City.

Mark Montuano fired 24 points before Jonathan Reyes took charge in the final quarter as the Informatics Icons downed Trinity University of Asia, 70-57, in men’s action.

Season MVP Mark Anthony Doligon added 12 markers.

The DLSU-D Lady Patriots, though, had to go through the wringer before tripping College of St. Benilde, 61-60, in overtime.

Katherine Mangahas buried the game-winner with nine seconds left after teaming up with Diane Gelisan, the season and Finals MVP, in extra period.

Mangahas, whose free throw forged overtime, 53-53, also fueled the Lady Patriots’ comeback from a 39-45 deficit in the third quarter.

Trinity’s Jackson Wong, Colegio de San Lorenzo’s Lucky Orillano and St. Benilde’s Ralph Nayve were named in the Caloy Loyzaga Mythical Five along with Doligon and Montuano. Jasmine W. Payo
