It was a fitting final game for Sajonia, who was named Finals MVP after averaging 19 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He recorded 17 points, six rebounds and three assists in San Beda’s 89-70 blowout victory in the Finals opener last Wednesday.
“I thank God for this victory. This is for every Bedista who supported me. It’s my dream to become a champion, and now I have a championship,” he said.
After Letran pulled within four after trailing by as many as 14, Sajonia nailed a momentum-swinging triple with under two minutes remaining that sparked a closing 8-2 spurt by San Beda.

Yukien Andrada, who has also played his final game for the Lions, had 21 points as well while Nygel Gonzales added 19.
The efforts of Sajonia, Andrada and Gonzales helped fill the void left by the absence of star guard Agjanti Miller, who missed the game serving a one-game suspension after picking up two technical fouls in Game 1 for flopping.
Rookie Jonathan Manalili paced the Knights with 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Kevin Santos and Jun Roque added 14 and 12 points, respectively, in a losing effort.
The scores:
SAN BEDA 83 – Andrada 21, Sajonia 21, Gonzales 19, Puno 7, Celzo 6, Estacio 6, Reyes 3, Lina 0, Etulle 0, Calimag 0
LETRAN 71 – Manalili 15, Santos 14, Roque 12, Estrada 10, Cuajao 8, Buensalida 5, Tapenio 3, Omega 2, Montecillo 2
