DOMINANT in possession, Kaya cruised to a 1-0 victory over Diliman last night for its second victory in Group B of the United Football League Cup at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Guam international Jonah Romero scored his first goal for the club, pouncing on a scramble inside the box in the 42nd minute as Kaya jacked up its tally to seven points from three matches.
The win secured a slot in the quarterfinals for Kaya, which reached the semifinals last year.
Kaya’s leading scorer, Nate Burkey, sent a header over the bar in the 18th minute after good work from Anton Ugarte on the left.
Diliman finished with 10 men after Marvin Barquin was sent off late in the match.
