Anvaya Cove triathlon attracts record field

A record field will vie for the titles when the 5th edition of the Anvaya Cove Invitational Triathlon gets going on Oct. 20 at Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club in Morong, Bataan.

A total of 250 participants signed up for the 1.2-kilometer swim-32K bike-6K run sprint distance and other race categories in the two-day event organized by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (Trap).

Forty youth racers will also dispute titles in the SuperTriKids (STK) aquathlon and triathlon events, which include the 25m swim-200m run for the 8-under, the 200m swim-2K bike-1K run for ages 9-10, the 300m swim-4K bike-2K run for ages 11-12, and the 400m swim-8K bike-3K run for ages 13-15.

The Globe Tri Team, Team Anvaya, Lakantri Teams 1 and 2 and Team Pisay, meanwhile, lead the 12-team field in the sprint relay of the race that also includes a family triathlon relay and age-group competitions.
