MANILA — Experienced wall climber Miel Pahati is relishing the opportunity to gain a shot at a Southeast Asian Games medal for the first time.

The multititled Pahati finally gets that chance in November in Palembang, Indonesia, following the inclusion of wall climbing in the SEA Games calendar.

Wall climbing stakes 10 gold medals in this year’s Games.

The 29-year-old Pahati thrives in the Asian circuit. He bagged a bronze in the 2007 Asian Extreme Games in Shanghai and a gold in the bouldering event in the Southeast Asian circuit in the same year.

Pahati said wall climbing has 21 players in the pool for the SEA Games and there is still one more selection process for the six athletes who will represent the country in Indonesia.
