Isaac-Mendoza NCA Stagfighter of Year
WITH THE end of its grueling six-leg derby series, the National Cockers’ Alliance focuses this time on the staging of the popular NCA Big Event 7-stag derby on Tuesday next week at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Newton Isaac and Arnold Mendoza, with their entry “N.I. Armen,” emerged NCA Stagfighter of the Year after the sixth and last leg topped by Arman Santos’ “Jade Red EDL Excellence” with 5.5 points.
The Isaac-Mendoza pairing pooled 31 points in the derby series, three clear of the second-placed Manny and Arman Santos’ “Jade Red EDL Excellence” with 28.
Finishing third in the stagfighter race was Rene Medina’s “RM Lucky Chances.”
Three contenders tied for second in the sixth leg with 5 points each—Congressman Unabia and Bangbang Lagbas, Arnold Mendoza and Mayor Josep Panganiban.
