CARLOS Anton topped two special stages in his trusty 215-horsepower Hornitex CRX machine to rule the Open class of the recent 0-400 Time Attack Event at Clark International Speedway.
And Alfie Concepcion, who drives for Yokohama-Castrol like Anton, stamped his class in the 2-wheel drive competition aboard a Special Stage-prepared Honda EG.
Also the reigning Group 4 Hillclimb champion, Concepcion thwarted the challenge of Jerwin Joson of Cabanatuan and fellow Baguio racer Moses Dumaguing.
Luis Buencamino shared the limelight by steering his Subaru to victory in the 4WD class over Australian Chris Lewis.
Mark and Jason Young, owners of the racing team that includes Anton, also showed their prowess in the drag races using an 800 hp Nissan GTR.
Jason won the Super Pro class with a time of 10.5 seconds over the quarter mile, while older brother Mark ruled the Sports Car class in 10.7 seconds.
Anton also won the last round of the Circuit Showdown event, clocking a blistering two minutes and 5.248 seconds using the Youngs’ GTR and hitting top speeds of over 250 kilometers per hour down the main straight of the 4.2 km track.
Anton dedicated his victory to his very supportive uncle Johnnie Dimalanta, a Knight of the Pontifical Order, who died recently.
“He was one of my biggest supporters in Baguio City,” said Anton.
