TWELVE-YEAR-OLD Mini-ROK karter Gabriel Tayao Cabrera clinched the Mini-ROK Cup Runner-up crown in the opening leg of the 2012 Formula Cadet Cup and Mini-ROK Cup recently at Clark International Speedway.
With veteran race engineer Elson Carpio overseeing his kart, Cabrera posted a personal best time of 1:09.668 in the final after a strong showing in the qualifying.
Cabrera will again compete in the remaining events of the 3-leg series on Nov. 10 and 11 at Carmona Race Track.
