MANILA, Philippines—Air 21 snagged a veteran point guard while Ginebra San Miguel got a piece to bolster its ailing line-up as the action in PBA Philippine Cup heats up.

The PBA Commissioner’s Office Wednesday approved the trade that would send the Express’ rookie Yousef Taha to the Kings for guard Mike Cortez.

Taha’s addition comes at a perfect timing for the injury-ridden and skidding Ginebra while Cortez reunites with his former coach in La Salle Franz Pumaren.

Meanwhile, the Kings plan to reactivate Robert Labagala to serve as back-up for LA Tenorio at the point guard spot, according to SMC executive Noli Eala on his Twitter account.
The Kings’ rising star Dylan Ababou underwent surgery Wendesday for a torn ACL on his right knee and might miss at least six months.
