PCCL: Teng comes up strong as La Salle withstands Perpetual Help

MANILA, Philippines—Jeron Teng nailed crucial buckets down the stretch and La Salle completed its 75-72 comeback of Perpetual Help Saturday in the Philippine College Champions League (PCCL).

Teng scored on back-to-back power moves with under a minute to go, giving the Green Archers the final lead that would carry them to the next round of the tournament.

Jeron Teng topscored with 19 points and seven rebounds for La Salle, which clashes with Adamson in Cebu City next week.

The Green Archers played catch up all game at the FAITH gym in Tanauan, Batangas, and needed Almond Vosotros to heat up early in the fourth quarter to get back in again.

The UAAP fourth placer cashed in on two technical fouls slapped on the Altas and Jett Vidal as Teng and Vosotros made their charities for a 65-62 edge.

But the NCAA’s third runner up also got a chance to tie the game at 68 with 2:30 left as Earl Thompson canned three of his four attempts from the stripe.

Teng, again, though came to the rescue for the Archers then Vosotros sealed the victory with a split FT in the final seconds.
