Woodrose, DLSZ, Ateneo ballers rule

WOODROSE School topped the girls’ 12- and 18-and-under age groups while De La Salle Zobel and Ateneo-Blue dominated boys’ baseball seniors and minors divisions, respectively, in the Southern Classic 2012 at Alabang Country Club recently.

In an all-Woodrose final in the 18-and-under class, Woodrose-Blue, powered by the duo of Franky Guerrero and Mariana Reyes who scored three and two runs, respectively, edged out Woodrose-Red.

Woodrose took the 12-and-under crown at the expense of Caloocan.

In the boys’ minor division final, Ateneo-Blue leaned on the all-around play of Ohmid Halabisaz to beat De La Salle Lipa, 13-8.

In boys’ seniors play of the event organized by Junior Baseball Softball Foundation and Alabang Baseball Softball Club, DLSZ banked on Dino Altomonte’s three RBIs and Carlos Minana’s two RBIs to blank Seven Seas, 5-0.

Ateneo ruled the boys’ majors division while Alabang Tigers beat De La Salle-Green for the juniors crown. Cedelf P. Tupas
