Erase Xfoliant whips winless Informatics

MANILA, Philippines—Erase Xfoliant leaned on a strong third quarter to whip Informatics, 79-68, Monday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Arellano University Gym.
Jett Vidal had his usual shooting touch to finish with a game-high 19 points.
“Kailangan may puhunan na panalo kasi malalakas yung mga teams,” said Erase head coach Aric del Rosario, whose team improved to 2-1.
The Icons went on a run in the fourth period as they pulled to within 10, 56-66.
Vidal though, answered back, hitting a triple to stop Informatics’ comeback attempt for a 69-56 spread with 5:31 left.
A basket by Marlon Gomez followed by a three-point play by Earl Thompson put the game away, 74-57, with 4:08 remaining.
Macky Acosta, the former Mapua starter, added 14 points for the Erasers.
Moncrief Rogado led Informatics with 18 points on a tough five-of-17 shooting day from the field.
The Icons fell to 0-2.
