Big Chill seeks a piece of the lead when it tangles with Cebuana Lhuillier today in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
After beating Jose Rizal University and Blackwater Sports, the Superchargers try to tie the idle defending champion NLEX Road Warriors at the top when they face the Gems at 4 p.m.
Erase Efoliants also go for a third straight win in the 2 p.m. match against Cafe France after dropping their first game to the Road Warriors last Oct. 29.
While momentum is on their side, the Superchargers expect a tough grind against the Gems, who will try to bounce back from a sorry defeat to league novice Fruitas last week.
“We are expecting Cebuana to go all out since they are coming off a loss in their last game. But we’ll be ready for anything Cebuana would give us,” Big Chill coach Robert Sison said.
The Gems absorbed a 91-90 loss to Fruitas after Rex Leynes flubbed two free throws with 0.7 seconds left in the game.
The top two teams after the single round elimination automatically advance to the semifinals. The No. 3 to 6 will march to the quarterfinals with the third- and fourth-ranked teams enjoying a twice-to-beat edge.
