Jackes nears karting ‘Grand Slam’

IT’S two down, one to go, for Tuason Racing School talent Flynn Jackes.

Jackes captured his second straight crown after emerging overall champion of the 2012 Coca-Cola Mini-ROK Cup Series recently at  Carmona Racetrack, setting his course for a possible Triple Crown.

After winning the National Mini-ROK title of the Coca-Cola Karting Series, Jackes now needs to regain the Asian Mini-ROK crown for the country when he drives against equally talented Indonesians in the 2012 Asian Karting Open Championship.

A victory there will make Jackes the first karter in Philippine Motorsports history to win three karting titles in three separate karting series all in one season.

That’s why there was little celebration for the 9-year-old Jackes after nailing the Mini-ROK Cup plum as he immediately started his month-long rigorous training for the Asian Mini-ROK plum.

The last two rounds of the 2012 Asian Karting Open Championship is set Dec. 15 and 16 in Sentul, Indonesia.

“We’re impressed with Flynn’s dedication and determination as he invested a lot of sacrifice in clinching back-to-back Mini-ROK crowns,” said JP Tuason, founder and president of the Tuason Racing School.
