Cali retains flyweight title vs Tagle
MANILA, Philippines — Ale “The Young Gun” Cali retained his flyweight title after scoring an exciting third-round stoppage over Erwin Tagle late Saturday night in the main event of Pacific X-treme Combat (PXC) 34 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Cali’s stand-up game proved to be too much for Tagle, who was unable to continue after the third round.
Tagle, a cage veteran, tasted Cali’s power early, bloodied in the second round before losing steam in the third round where the hard-hitting champion capitalized.
