MANILA, Philippines—After four seasons with College of St. Benilde, Richard del Rosario has resigned as head coach of its men’s basketball team.

Del Rosario, who serves as an assistant coach with the San Mig Coffee Mixers in the PBA, broke the news on his twitter account Monday morning.

“My beloved Blazers, it’s been an honor going to battles with you. Keep fighting! Hope my resignation gets you the attention you deserve,” del Rosario posted.

“In my letter to CSB I put effective Dec. 31, 2012 to allow a smooth transition. I’m still awaiting for a response from the school,” del Rosario told INQUIRER.net.

“I’m not at liberty to discuss the reasons until I’ve spoken to school officials. Hope you understand,” del Rosario added in a text message.

Del Rosario took over CSB’s coaching reins replacing Gee Abanilla in 2009.

The Blazers showed promise early in the 88th Season of the NCAA but went on to finish ninth with a 5-13 record.
