Folayang seeks ‘lucky 13’ vs American URCC fighter
Eduard Folayang will be gunning for his 13th win when he battles American Lowen Tynanes in the featured match of the Universal Reality Combat Championship-Colt 45 fights dubbed “Dekada” on Dec. 1 at SMMall of Asia Arena.
Long considered as the face of the country’s biggest MMA promotion, the 27-year-old pride of Baguio is coming off an impressive win over SwissJapanese Felipe Enomoto in One FC 5 in Singapore two months back. His win over Enomoto erased the stigma of the wushu specialist’s loss to Ole Laursen in One FC 3 in May, also in Singapore.
The undisputed URCC welterweight champion will lock horns with the dangerous Tynames, a lightweight campaigner, in the “Superfight” of the 10fight affair.
Prior to his defeat to Laursen, Folayang had strung up six wins highlighted by his submission victory over Wadson Teixiera in Cebu early this year.
URCC founder and president Alvin Aguilar expects the fight to go down the wire as Tynanes is a noted grappler.
“It’s going to be a close call, both are excellent fighters, they can grapple and throw bombs,” said Aguilar.
URCC is celebrating its 10th year anniversary by showcasing its rising stars.
