MANILA, Philippines — Petron Blaze cracked the game wide open in the fourth quarter and defeated Barako Bull, 93-83, Saturday in the 2012 PBA Philippine Cup on Tour in Lucena City in Quezon Province.

Arwind Santos had a quiet 21 points, while Alex Cabagnot added only 11 points but his four-point play with 4:24 to play corked the third-straight victory for the Boosters.

Petron has always been in control of the pace of the match — but lost the lead a couple of times in the second and third periods.

But Marcio Lassiter was on cue when his second straight triple came with a bonus free throw which gave the Boosters the lead for good with 4:24 in the third.

Lassiter sizzled with nine of his 11 markers in the third — giving a good back up for Santos who also had 12 rebounds and three blocks.

Jay Washington, Chris Lutz, and Joseph Yeo all added double-digit contributions for the Boosters, who are slowly climbing up and now with a 6-6 card.

Barako, which sunk to 3-8, gave Petron enough space to build a commanding lead that stretched to as far as 17 points late in the game.

Danny Seigle led the Energy with 16 points — but most of it early in the third quarter during his squad’s last solid stand against the Boosters and when they last tasted the lead.

Doug Kramer had 15 points and 21 big rebounds, Rogery Yap also had 15 and Sean Anthony 12 — but these weren’t enough to end the Energy’s slump.

A power move inside by Kramer made it a manageable six-point ball game at the end of the third — but Barako Bull couldn’t contain Petron any longer after that.
