The country’s top Filipino mixed martial artists Eduard “The Landslide” Folayang and Eric “The Natural” Kelly will headline a 10-fight card as they face separate foes.
“People are saying since it’s going to be our 10th year, we’ll be giving our fighters easy fights but we gave them their hardest opponents,” said URCC founder and promoter Alvin Aguilar.
Folayang, an Asian Games and SEA Games medalist in Wushu, will defend his Super Fight title against American Lowen Tynanes, a King of the Cage champion, who specializes on the ground.
Kelly on the other hand, will put his featherweight title on the line against Brad Terrey of Phuket Top Team in the penultimate fight.
“URCC has been well around the province as well. We have produced the best Filipino fighters. If you’re not in the URCC you’re not one of the best fighters,” added Aguilar, a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. “I brought MMA to mainstream. Our goal was always to showcase Filipino mixed martial artists to the world.”
In other fights, Janel Lanusa of Bacolod Muay Thai battles Rami Crisostomo of Red Boxing in the flyweight division.
Roy Doliguez of Elorde MMA faces Dennis Salazar of World MMA also in a flyweight clash.
In a featherweight fight, Red Romero of DEFTAC battles Sulpiano Laurio of Sprawl MMA.
“This is going to be our biggest and best show,” Aguilar vowed.
