MANILA –The Ad-Hoc committee doing “house-cleaning” in Philippine baseball is not affected by the possibility of not sending a team to the Indonesia Southeast Asian Games.
Committee member Leslie Suntay of Baseball Philippines yesterday said the national team’s suspension by the Philippine Sports Commission, the stakeholders will go on improving the association.
“We are tasked to recommend amendments to the bylaws and this should pave the way for an orderly house and more baseball groups should want to start new programs and new support will come to the association,” said Suntay.
The PH batters were stripped of salary and billeting privileges after failing to compete in the PSC-Philippine Olympic Committee National Games held last May in Negros Occidental.
Because of that, the baseball team’s inclusion in the lineup for the SEA Games is in jeopardy, according to SEAG deputy chief of mission Julian Camacho.
