DOTTIE Ardina hardly recovered from a disastrous third round stint and turned in a three over 75, settling for third in the Dunes Medal Golf Championship ruled by Su Hyun Oh in Rye, Victoria, Australia on Friday.
Ardina stumbled with early bogeys on Nos. 1 and 6, fought back with a birdie on the seventh but just couldn’t set up good birdie chances and missed a couple of tries from eight feet. She made back-to-back bogeys from No. 10 and dropped another stroke on the 15th before holing out with a 10-footer for birdie on No. 16 for a 37-38 card.
The top ICTSI-backed bet, who sparked hopes of a title run after firing a course record seven-under 65 that netted her the joint lead in the second round only to falter with a 76 in the third day, wound up with a 290, 16 shots behind Oh, who sizzled with a closing 66 for a 277.
Oh got back at Minjee Lee, who topped the Elvie Whitesides two weeks ago in Tasmania and made a 67 for a 280.
Jayvie Agojo matched par 72 and finished fifth at 298 behind Grace Lennon, who had a 294 after a 73.
