Kenyan overcomes wind to win Las Vegas Marathon

LAS VEGAS — Kenya’s Jonathan Ndambuki overcame strong winds to win the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon on Sunday.

The 36-year-old Ndambuki finished with a time of 2 hours, 32 minutes and 24 seconds — just more than a minute in front of his closest competitor, 31-year old American Steve Dekoker, who finished in 2:33:22. Sam Robinson, 27, took third in 2:41:09.

The women’s overall winner was 42-year-old Romanian-born Nuta Olaru, who finished in 2:51:31. Adrian Neal was second in 2:51:33, followed by Dani Fischer in 2:59:20.
