MANILA, Philippines – Former US presidential candidate Mitt Romney shook hands with boxing icon Manny Pacquiao inside his locker room at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas ahead of the Filipino champion’s non-title bout against Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila).
Romney was spotted among thousands eagerly anticipating what has been considered one of the greatest rivalries in boxing.
Sugar Shane Mosley, who lost to Pacquiao via unanimous decision in May 2011, also visited his former opponent.
Pacquiao, in a gray jacket with blue trimmings with his “MP” logo, arrived with wife Jinkee.
