MANILA, Philippines—Manny Pacquiao and wife Jinkee arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport early Wednesday via Philippine Airlines flight 103 from Los Angeles, California, following the boxing superstar’s second defeat for the year.

The couple intended to arrive Wednesday for the birthday of their son, Michael.

Pacquiao fell to a sixth-round loss to archnemesis Juan Manuel Marquez in their fourth encounter last Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Despite the loss, Pacquiao said he was satisfied he was able to give the fans an explosive fight.

“We will rise again,” Pacquiao said in his arrival speech.

On Dec. 17, Pacquiao will turn 34 and celebrations are scheduled in General Santos City and Sarangani province, where he’s running unopposed for a second term as congressman.
