Perpetual Help continue domination in NCAA volleyball
MANILA, Philippines — Perpetual Help pounded a hapless Lyceum 25-14, 25-16, 25-21 Friday to continue its dominance in the 88th NCAA women’s volleyball at the Arena in San Juan.
Honey Tubino had 15 points and Sandra de los Santos added 13 points, including four aces, for the Lady Altas’ 18th straight victory dating back to last season.
Back-to-back hits from skipper April Sartin and Norie Jane sealed the victory for Perpetual Help in the final set, where Lyceum was most threatening.
Article continues after this advertisementWhile the Lady Altas remained head-and-shoulders above with a 4-0 record, the Lady Pirates dropped to 0-4.
The surging Altas also overwhelmed the Pirates 25-18, 25-19, 25-19 in the men’s action to stay unscathed in four starts.
Four scorers finished in double digits for Perpetual Help, with Jay Dela Cruz leading with 13 hits.
