Lady Patriots grab share of volley lead
THE LA SALLE-DASMARIÑAS Lady Patriots unleashed a strong finish in the third set to turn back the PATTS College of Aeronautics Sea Horses, 25-13, 25-22, 25-10, yesterday in the women’s division of the 20th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) volleyball tournament at Philippine Merchant Marine School gymnasium.
The Lady Patriots banked on the timely entry of veteran spiker Giselle Bembo in coming up with a big scoring run in the third as La Salle-Dasma gained a share of the volleyball lead with their second straight victory.
Bembo, who was sparingly used in the game following an ankle injury she sustained last Monday, joined Monique Tiangco in presiding over a 15-0 blast in the last set.
Earlier, the Rizal Technological University Lady Thunder (2-1) notched their second straight win, turning back the Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite Lady Vanguards, 20-25, 27-25, 25-23, 25-19.
