First leg of NCA derby circuit leg fires off today

FIERCE action is expected today as the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) stages the first derby of its new 5-cock circuit today at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Derby hosts Mayor Elan Nagaño and Mayor Boyet Joson have invited the crème de la crème in Philippine cockfighting, including Joson’s cockfight friends Rep. Carmelo Lazatin and engineers Tuaño, and Ato dela Cruz, to compete.

Nagaño invited lawyer Jun Mendoza, Pete Ison, Oca Domingo, and Bong Pineda to pit their skills with regular NCA members.

The next NCA derby is slated Jan. 8 next year with champion breeders Rene Medina and Bebot Uy as hosts.

The second leg will be followed by the highly competitive NCA World Championship Derby on Jan. 15, 17 and 19.
