MANILA, Philippines—Stallion FC turned back Global FC, 2-1, in the championship match of the UFL Cup at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Rufo Sanchez came through with the marginal goal off a header in the 61st minute.
Ruben Doctora opened up the scoring in the 25th to put Stallion ahead, but quickly Sudanese forward Izzo El-Habbib nailed the equalizer.
Meanwhile, Loyola Meralco Sparks claimed third place after beating Green Archers United, 4-1.
Mark Hartmann struck twice in the opening half to give the Sparks a 3-1 cushion, including the equalizer four minutes after Ghanian Ayi Nii Aryee scored the first goal of the match for Green Archers United.
Phil Younghusband put the outcome beyond doubt in the 62nd minute.
