Café France eyes third straight win

Slowly but surely developing a winning mentality, Café France seeks a third straight victory against dangerous Blackwater Sports today in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Riding high on their impressive performances of late, the Bakers hope to stay sharp in the 12 noon duel that could prove crucial to both team’s bids of gaining an automatic semifinal berth.

The Bakers’ stirring run not only included wins over Fruitas and Informatics, but also a stunning 66-52 win over NLEX last week.

“I told the boys this is the start of the journey of being a winner,” said Café France coach Egay Macaraya. “We have to face all challenges now.”

Café France and Blackwater Sports are tied for third place with 4-2 (win-loss) record and remain in contention for an outright semifinal berth that awaits the top two teams of the elimination round.

Rivals NLEX and Cebuana Lhuillier square off in the second game at 2 p.m. with the Road Warriors aiming to nail a ninth victory.
