Plana rules S’woods golf

JUNJUN Plana scored a gross 70 to capture the overall low gross crown while Richard Santos bagged the overall net title in the 2012 Chairman’s Charity Cup at  Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club’s Masters and Legends courses in Carmona, Cavite, recently.

Joseph Tambunting shot a gross 76 (net 68) worth 40 Modified Stableford points as he edged Anthony See and Thirdy Escaño by one to bag the Division I crown in the tournament sponsored by Mitsubishi Motors/Diamond Motors, Royal Caribbean/Baron Travel and Mit-Air.

Ike Acosta also took the spotlight by scoring a hole-in-one on No. 7 of the Legends Course and won an Alaska Cruise with airfare. Greg Fule won a brand-new Mitsubishi Mirage during the raffle draw.

Jung Hee Kim topped Division II with a gross 77 worth 44 points, beating Philip Santos, who had 40 points from a gross 82, while Jojo Jee carded a gross 85 worth 44 and nipped Ceasar Igual and Willy Tee Ten in the countback for the Division III crown.

Manny Bernabe fired a gross 89 for 44 points to snatch the Division IV crown of the event backed by hole-in-one sponsors The Turf Co. and Wilson Sports and major sponsors Promise Land Trading, Golforce, Resorts World and Warbird Securities.

Other winners were Mario Badillo (Seniors I), Vic Conanan (Seniors II), Eun Hee Suk (Ladies I), Lita Jumalon (Ladies II) and Jong Arcano (Guest Division).
