Adamson completes 1st round sweep in UAAP softball

MANILA, Philippines — Adamson University hurdled past all of its opponents in the first round, capped by a 3-0 win over University of Santo Tomas Wednesday in the 75th UAAP softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

Michelle Lentija delivered a homerun, while Julie Ann Muyco struck out eight batters to make sure the Lady Falcons stayed unscathed in six matches.

Adamson extended its streak to 26 wins dating back from 2010-11 season.

“Most of our games this first round, it’s always close. Unlike before where we always won by a mile,” said Lady Falcons’ mentor Ana Santiago in Filipino. “Our opponents have improved.

The UST softbelles tried to make things happen for them, but failed to barge into the scoring column as they dropped to 3-2.

National University rose to second spot with a 10-4 victory in the opening game, sending Ateneo crashing to its fifth consecutive setback this season.
