Adamson routs UE to end string of five-setter losses
MANILA, Philippines — Adamson ended a string of heart-breaking losses with a confidence-boosting 25-19, 25-17, 25-10 rout of University of the East Sunday in the 75th UAAP women’s volleyball competition at the Arena in San Juan.
Skipper Pau Soriano spearheaded the Lady Falcons’ attack with 15 points, while Mayette Zapanta continued her impressive showing this season with 11 hits, including two service aces.
Adamson dropped back-to-back five setters before securing the victory over a hapless UE and enters the second round with a 4-3 card.

The Lady Falcons put the outcome beyond doubt early in the third set and put away the Lady Warriors for good, 25-10.
UE continued to show its sheer lack of firepower in its seventh setback of the season sans a win.

Sarina Bulan, UE’s top scorer, was limited to just a single point.
