EAC, Lyceum win in NCAA women’s volleyball

MANILA, Philippines—Emilio Aguinaldo College continued its winning ways after hacking out a 25-14, 25-19, 25-14, win over Jose Rizal University Monday in the NCAA Season 88 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan city.

Arnie Yumul led the Lady Generals, who joined San Sebastian in second place at 5-1, in scoring anew with 11 points.

Meanwhile, Lyceum shook off early troubles in the opening set to send Mapua reeling to another defeat, 25-18, 25-15, 25-9.

The Lady Pirates banked on nine service aces to notch their second straight win and second consecutive in straight sets after losing their first five starts.

Jhemil Abadilla registered 12 points while Gian Carla Benedicto chipped in nine markers.

Alissa Magallanes also had nine points for the listless Cardinals, who remained at the cellar with a 0-6 mark.
