MANILA, Philippines — Adamson just refuses to lose.
The Lady Falcons survived a scare put up by University of Santo Tomas, 2-1, Wednesday to remain unbeaten in the UAAP Season 75 softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
The win hiked defending champion Adamson’s winning run to 28 games, spanning for three seasons, 8-0 this year.
The Tigresses absorbed their third loss in eight stints, allowing National University to seize solo second place at 5-2.
University of the East and Ateneo also won after beating De La Salle and University of the Philippines, respectively.
UE pummeled La Salle, 4-1, to forge a tie in fourth place while Ateneo stopped its seven-game slid to crash into the win column following a 3-1 triumph over University of the Philippines.
In women’s tennis, La Salle edged NU, 3-2, for its fourth win in a row after beating UST and Ateneo in identical scores.
Tournament newcomer NU suffered its second straight setback.
Meanwhile, UST turned back UP, 4-1, to tie reigning champion DLSU in second place with a 3-1 mark in men’s tennis.
The Bulldogs lead the standings with an unblemished 4-0 slate.
