Luke Flores, Angelo Mejia and Shyryn Salazar pulled off golden doubles in their respective categories in Dumalag, Capiz, last week, the kickoff leg of the Philta-Palawan Pawnshop regional age-group tennis championships.
Flores stunned top seed Emmanuela Fuellas, 6-4, 1-6, 10-4, for the 16-under title then trouncef Robert Labris, 6-1, 6-3, in the 18-under final.
Mejia blanked Marben Mosquera, 6-0, 6-0, for the 10-under unisex title then beat Nino Buenvenida, 6-2, 6-4, in the boys’ 12-under championship.
Salazar bested top seed Averille Sacapano, 6-3, 6-3, in the girls’ 12-under division, and Keana de Asis, 6-0, 6-4, in the 14-under.
In girls’ 16-under, Keannu Flores repulsed Toni Rose Raymundo, 2-6, 6-1, 10-7 for the title.
