MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University kept its winning run rolling after overpowering University of the Philippines, 25-8, 25-12, 25-12, Saturday in the UAAP Season 75 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Tamaraws, who pushed their winning streak to five games, imposed their will from the get-go behind their balanced attack.
Rosemarie Vargas led FEU with 12 points on four service aces while Marie Toni Basas and Wenneth Eulalio added 11 points apiece.
FEU picked up where it left off last Wednesday where it blasted Ateneo, 25-20, 25-17, 25-16.
The Lady Tams have flipped the script from a team down in the standings to a legitimate contender since Kid Santos took over the head coaching duties.
FEU is now 5-1 under Santos and 6-4 overall, in a good position to nab a semifinals slot.
The Lady Maroons suffered their ninth consecutive loss to drop to 1-9.
