27th Fiba-Asia Championship on Solar

Solar Entertainment Corporation will be the official broadcaster of the Fiba-Asia Championship set Aug. 1 to 11.

The Philippines will host the event, the qualifier for the Fiba World Championship in Spain next year, after 40 years.

Fiba-Asia originally awarded the hosting rights to Lebanon. However, the political unrest in the Middle East forced the Executive Committee to move the venue of the 27th staging of the tournament from Beirut to Manila.

Solar COO Peter Chanliong said they are “still in the process of talking to several television networks to see who would be the best choice in terms of being the free TV partner.”
