RJ BAUTISTA cemented his status as one of the Philippines’ elite young sportsmen by besting Ibrahim Moharram, 12-10, in the final to win the 2013 Tiger Cup 10-ball at Star Billiards Center in Quezon City, recently.
Bautista trounced Resty Labastida, 13-6, while Moharram nipped Albert Agustin, 13-12, in the semifinal of the tournament hosted by longtime billiards patron Sebastian Chua.
A former top player of St. Mary’s and now playing for University of Santo Tomas, Bautista is also under the wings of the PCSO Bugsy Training Program Academy.
He is a product of the National Collegiate Billiards League (B-League), a grassroots development event in the country.
“It’s all hard work that made RJ Bautista one of the youngest cue masters in the country,” said sportsman Ceferino “Perry” Mariano, top honcho of Bugsy International Promotions.
