Amer shines as San Beda turned back St. Benilde-B
MANILA, Philippines – Baser Amer scored 22 points as San Beda stopped College of St. Benilde-B, 66-60, in the 9th Fr. Martin Cup Collegiate Open basketball tournament at the Arellano University gym.
The Red Lions, with assistant coach JB Sison calling the shots and new head coach Boyet Fernandez watching from the sidelines, broke loose in the final minutes, erasing a 55-58 deficit to pick up their third win in four games.

Kyle Pascual, JP Mendoza and Ryusei Koga also played a key role in helping defending champion San Beda create separation in the end.
The Lions racked up their second straight win after nipping University of the Philippines, 63-61, in their previous outing.
